Diabetes is a rising problem in Aotearoa, disproportionately affecting Maaori and Pacific people. Associate Professor Chepulis works with clinicians, patients and whānau to understand the barriers and challenges these different groups face and leads change to tangibly improve services, patient engagement and health outcomes.

Associate Professor Lynne Chepulis is a leading researcher at the intersection of public health, primary care and chronic disease management in Aotearoa.
Diabetes is a rising problem in Aotearoa, disproportionately affecting Maaori and Pacific people. Associate Professor Chepulis works with clinicians, patients and whānau to understand the barriers and challenges these different groups face and leads change to tangibly improve services, patient engagement and health outcomes.
She is also involved in projects to reduce inequity in public health, epidemiology, digital health, and cancer treatment, notably in relation lung cancer and colorectal cancer. As well as doing extensive public outreach work, Associate Professor Chepulis is a member of the NZ Health Research Council Public Health Funding Panel, editor of the Primary Care Diabetes journal and an executive board member of the NZ Society for the Study of Diabetes.
Associate Professor Lynne Chepulis is a 2023 finalist in the Te Whatu Ora Waikato Medical Science Award.
