Chris Duggan’s bi-lingual science kits for primary schools have grown from a one-city wonder to a nationwide phenomenon.
Observing a downward trend in our primary level science results and knowing that a lack of teacher confidence was part of the problem, accomplished science educator Chris quit her teaching job to start ‘House of Science’, a science kit resource library, run by a charitable trust. The easy-to-use kits provide materials for fun, hands-on science activities with accompanying professional development for teachers. Booked online, presented in both English and Te Reo and aligned to NZ curriculum and current research, House of Science resources are now used by 9,000 students every week, nationwide.
